Our History

Findlay Property was founded in 2001 by Simon McDonnell and Alan Findlay as London began a historic transition from being a market predominantly composed of ownership to one of rentals.

Findlay Property grasped the implications of this change by targeting specific areas in central London and concentrating on acquiring buy-to-let properties for non-resident landlords.

With that strategy, Findlay Property quickly increased in size and fully incorporated in the UK in May 2003.

In 2005 John Walsh joined the company to help further increase the amount of properties under management and to improve letting and management systems.

In 2006 Helen Liiker joined the company and grew into the indispensable role of Office Manager.

In 2006 Jean-Paul Van Cauwelaert joined to help steady the ship financially and impose rigorous accounting system.

Both John and Jean-Paul became Directors and Shareholders in 2007.

In 2009 Simon McDonnell, John Walsh and Jean-Paul Van Cauwelaert purchased the remaining shares in Findlay Property from Alan Findlay and assumed full control.

In 2010 Findlay Property purchased a commercial property on Broadway Market a prime east London location where it currently operates from.
